BREAKING NEWS – Dominik Paris (ITA) out for season

Dominik Paris, Italy’s alpine superstar and top contender for the Overall and Downhill Crystal Globes suffered a season-ending crash in a training accident Tuesday reports FIS.

Paris was making a Super-G training run in Kirchberg (Austria) when he lost control in a turn and ruptured the ACL in his right knee. This accident comes only days in advance of this weekends’ Super-G and Downhill World Cup races slated for the legendary Hahnenkamm resort in Kitzbuehel.

Coming off a recent second place showing in Wengen and two downhill wins in Bormio, Paris ends his season in the 2nd position in Downhill, 5th place within the Super-G standings, and 4th in the Overall run for the Crystal Globe.

Paris will be sorely missed for the remainder of the 2020 World Cup season. We at the Alpine Insider wish him a quick recovery and look forward to his return in the 2020/21 season.
